Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20
Through the generous giving from the members of Calvary Baptist Church, the Missions Team is able to support multiple missions opportunities fitting into the following five categories.
1. Special Offerings: During the year we collect the following four special offerings: Retired Ministers and Missionaries, America for Christ, One Great Hour of Sharing, and World Missions.
2. Special Missions Projects: The primary purpose of these projects is to better spread the Gospel throughout the world by helping our own youth and adults serve on short term missions trips both in the USA and around the world. Last year we supported Emily Ambrose's trips to Botswana, Africa (Teen Mania and Youth for Christ) and the Gideon's Boston Bible Blitz.
3. Outreach Projects: The primary purpose of these projects is to help spread the Gospel here in our local area. Last year we supported the Northwest Alliance of Churches - Alpha and the Memorial Day Parade Outreach.
4. Directed giving to ABC International Ministries: The primary purpose of these gifts to to support new and special overseas missions projects through the American Baptist Churches International Ministries. Last year we supported missions dedicated to helping the street children in Northeast India and the orphans in Poland.
