Expanded Prayer Chain Ministry

Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for,

it will be done for you in heaven.

- Matthew 18:19

God's Word tells us that "the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). Therefore, we have developed the Prayer Chain Ministry to mobilize prayer in a time of crisis or extraordinary need. Recently we reorganized and expanded this ministry. Until now, we have only used the telephone to communicate requests to our chains. We now also have an e-mail Prayer Chain! Anyone can contact our chains with a need for themselves or a family member or friend (we will pray for anyone), and soon many will be praying for them.

How does this ministry work? There are two ways to share a request with our chains. First, you may contact the office or the pastor with a request. We used to require contacting the pastor first. However, by giving more options, we hope to get requests out to the chains more quickly. When you call, please give:

   a. The name of the person(s) for whom prayer is requested.

b. The nature of the need or request.

As soon as any one of these persons receives a request, they will start the prayer chains.

The other way to share a request is by sending an e-mail to: cbcalive@gmail.com. Again, persons making the request should give as much detail as they can including:

a. Their own name.

b. Name of the person(s) for whom prayer is requested.

c. The exact nature of the need or request.

Our e-mail captain will then forward this information to our e-mail prayer chain members. She will also call the request in to the pastor and our telephone chain captains who will start the telephone chains.

Within about a week after activating the prayer chains, anyone making a prayer chain request is asked to contact the office or the pastor with additional information on answers to prayer and any ongoing needs. We will then contact the chains with the update.

Nearly forty persons now participate in this Prayer Chain Ministry. We know that the Lord will do great things in answer to our prayers! "Therefore, I tell you," Jesus said, "whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24).
